chemo-sarah

That's a name my older sister came up w/. It's my alter-ego when I am having chemotherapy. Chemo-Sarah can be a bitch. She can be irritable. She's tired a lot and sick some of the time. She feels like she misses out on spending time w/ her kids and hates it that she can't do the things she normally does. She tries to stay positive, but it can be hard. She gets down. She cries. She tries to not think about it so that the time doesn't pass so slowly. She HATES the damn pump she has to carry around, listening to every pump of poison it puts into her body. She also knows that there are others who have faced this before, have had it much harder, who are facing more difficult tasks....and she tries to always keep that perspective.
Saturday will come, the pump will get removed, she will sleep and try to recover so that hopefully, on Sunday......she will wake up and just be Sarah again.

  1. And always, Chemosarah is brave and reasonable in all of her reactions. When you are done with this, we are having a happy celebration with a fond farewell to that girl who can't exercise and who is sick and all of that stuff that just doesn't feel like you.
